The Tape and Tape Multitrack license is one and the same. Tape Multitrack includes all the goodies of Tape, but in addition, you get selectable crosstalk between each individual track - and you can easily control the Tape Multitrack settings from a single interface. Adding Tape to your MixFX slot gives you Tape Multitrack. If you run Presonus Studio One, you can not only use Tape as a standard plug-in. So experiment, listen closely, and choose wisely. And you can save the setup as a project template for future use.Each has its own story to tell, and its own special something to impart to your music. Of course, none of this is as easy as it could be, but it is doable. Going further still, if you find that the track volume increases too much as you push into the saturation fx, you could add a volume fx after the saturation fx (or use the level control on the saturation fx, if available), and setup parameter modulation to decrease the volume as you push harder into the saturation fx. It isn't using the track control panel level to control saturation, but it prevents you from having to open fx windows.ДЄnd if you want to take it a bit further, you could simply add a volume fx to each track before the saturation fx, and instead of adding the saturation amount control to the track control panel, add the volume fx control, so that as you adjust the volume fx parameter knob, the track audio pushes harder/lesser into the saturation fx. That will give you a saturation control on the track control panel (which you would need to repeat for each track). To Tubeguy: One way you might go about doing it would be to add your saturation fx to each track, and in the saturation fx gui for each track, click on the saturation amount control, then click on the Param button at the top of the fx window, and go to Fx parameter list, Show in track control, choosing the saturation amount control. It can especially make hard panning sound a bit less weird when listening on headphones. The only time I find crosstalk useful is on busses, to 'soften' panning a bit. I have no desire for cross-channel leakage in a DAW, especially from muted channels. Yeah, I don't know how it works in Studio One, I've never used it.

And so, what is impossible about that? Nothing that I can tell without more precisely defining what is meant by 'crosstalk'. For example, we could simply send some portion of a track's signal to neighboring tracks and call it crosstalk emulation. This is the part that the vast majority of us cannot practically know for ourselves, and developers aren't demonstrating it for us.Д«ut taking something that is claimed to do a specific thing and appreciating it for more vaguely doing something that you like, whether that something is what is claimed or not is a different sort of thing.ДЄnd I bring this up because without specfically defining what is to be achieved by some process (such as saturation or crosstalk emulation) leaves everything pretty loosey-goosey. Is it not? I mean, developers are unabashedly claiming that their plugins sound like what they are emulating. I like what plugins do on their own merit, not what a piece of hardware they are based on might have sounded like. We can throw all these emulation plugins across our tracks, but are we getting what we had hoped for in the first place, sonically? Do we even have a good idea of what we were hoping to achieve in the first place? Or are we just taking claims of analog emulation at face value without really knowing anything about how well (or how bad) a plugin is emulating what it is supposed to? Being that the vast majority of us don't own the tape machines, mixers, and outboard that is being emulated, along with the hyperbolic nature of the audio business (hardware and software), I would say there is very little chance of arriving at meaningful truths for any of this. In all my listening of audio demos at developers' sites, soundcloud channels, and youtube channels, not once I have I been wowed by any analog emulation plugins, not to mention demoing many of them. I guess my biggest concern with all this analog emulation stuff is lack of meaningful demonstration of it sounding like the real deal. Something more fancy could likely be done with a custom JSFX. Audio from a track bleeding into neighboring tracks? What are the conditions and parameters? As a very simple example, each track could be set to send some fixed amount of signal to it's neighbors. But maybe it is dependent on exactly what we are talking about. That is impossible without DAW integration, and Studio One is the only one that does it.
